Never underestimate the power of stupid people

I cannot believe how dumb some people can be. I spent HOURS editing this complaint that we filed on Monday (I wasn't here, because I was out sick that day, but apparently everyone was here working on it until midnight), and I'm reading through it again to familiarise myself with the new version of the case - and I see that almost all of my emendations went unnoticed, ignored, uncorrected - you name it. There's no uniformity in the various parts, and you can tell that a million people wrote it because the writing styles are so different. I tried so hard to make everything uniform, so that we don't look like idiots in front of whatever judge is going to read this, and they just went and paid no attention to what work I did. You'd think that they'd at least acknowledge that some work was done on the thing by me, but the same SPAG errors are there. At least the factual inconsistencies were fixed. But omg teh lawyers dun no how 2 rite!1!11!1!

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO DAMN STUPID?

(Crossposted here and here, because it just bothers me so much!)

Feeling like crap

Not going to work today. Called boss just now and he gave me a day off, no questions asked - because he said I "sounded terrible" and he said I didn't have to rush back to work, which is great. There's a lot of construction noise on the street outside, since I think the city's taken it upon itself to repave 23rd Street and inconvenience all of the people who drive down it on a regular basis, since it's a main thoroughfare for rush hour traffic (it's a parking lot by 4:30). Drilling and such has been going on since about 8. Am going to kill the pigeons nesting on my patio because it's getting annoying how many keep coming around. I think I might venture outside before it gets too hot, so I can get myself a bento box from Nooshi (since I really want one) for lunch today. Going to treat myself, and hope to God that nobody from work sees me. Crafty.

Sigh ...

Well, new blog, new hopes for a Gmail account ... and I hate to start things off complaining like this, but I've been sitting around the house, not at work, because I've been sick all weekend and was sent home straightaway without having to edit the complaint we're filing today (and thank God for that! I was feeling so awful and now I'm nauseous). I've slept, watched Bend It Like Beckham, and have been waiting for the parents to call. I just want to deny the existence of the world right now, honestly.

Thanks to Emmet for the suggestion to come here.
